As you can see I'm having hard time stretching my legs. And, yes, I know I should finish my training with some stretching but, um, I don't like it. And, yes, I know I should start my training with some stretching but, um, I don't like it. For as long as I reach the floor with my palms (having my legs straight) I'm happy. Other than that... #youcandoit

I'm So Stupid...

Or should I say "technically retarded"? Of course this doesn't apply to, um, like, everything but in this case that's really the case: technically retarded.

I've got two Apple laptops, one for work, and one for "not work". It wasn't until recently that I realized that you can do this with the cord. It all makes sense, now. And I don't have to fold the cord in knots to make sure it sticks to the charger when traveling, not any more.

It's #tbt again.
This time I had to go way back in the h i s t o r y.
I think this pic was taken in 1997. I had my hair cut right after I got my second High School Diploma, this time in Kurikka, Finland. I'm sitting on my dad's bike. He rebuilt it all by himself. And later sold it to someone in Koskenkorva. My dad thought that that ride didn't run fast enough.

I'm so in need of a proper internet connection.
And, yes, my case with TeliaSonera is not over, yet.
I was supposed to get this super fast internet connection last Friday.
Guess what?!
At around 3 o'clock in the afternoon I got an sms telling me that I won't be getting my new internet connection until Monday (that's today). But on Friday they did have the time to close my previous internet connection.

Smoothie

Have you already had your first smoothie?
I've always eaten my veggies and fruits instead of making a smoothie.
I've had my blender for quite some time now but haven't found a smoothie that I like.

I hear people blending carrots, onions and like greens. But, at the same time, I feel sick in my stomach when thinking about drinking carrots. So, now that I've finally found one smoothie that I like  I share you with the recipe.

I'm currently obsessed with this salad that I just prepared.
It's got lettuce, cucumber, cantaloupe, eggs, parmesan, prosciutto, and homemade dressing to die for.

My NYE 2014, uudenvuoden kujeet

I had so much fun last night. I truly did!

I went to see my goddaughter, who is five years old, and her family. At their place we made marshmallows - have you ever eaten fresh, still a bit warm marshmallows? They taste goooood! Then we had some fireworks, champagne and maybe few beers (us, adults). We were up quite late, finished our night with a movie called Kon Tiki - absolutely worth watching. The kids went to sleep earlier so I had quite an interesting wakeup (eh): the kids came in and started jumping on my bed screaming "WAKE UP, WAKE UP". Eventually I did.

Tämä uusivuosi poikkesi hieman aikaisemmista. Olin yökyläilemässä kummityttöni luona. Ohjelmaamme kuului vaahtokarkkien tekemistä (nam!), sädetikkuja, raketteja, shampanjaa ja riehakasta yhdessäoloa. Illan päätteeksi, lasten mentyä nukkumaan, katsoimme Kon Tiki -nimisen elokuvan, joka osoittautuikin varsin onnistuneeksi pläjjäykseksi. Aamuherätyskin poikkesi hieman aikaisemmista: puoli yhdeksältä riiviöt tulivat hyppimään sängylle huutaen samalla "HERÄTYS".

Voiko joulun odottamisen paremmin aloittaa: simmut kiinni ja huovan lämpöön. Läppäri kuvausrekvisiittaa (, kun sattui sängyllä lojumaan).

I'll be heading to my parents' place this afternoon. I just can't wait to eat all the Christmas food, do you?

Leipuri Hii-iivaa-aa (trallallaa)

Olen huomannut itsessäni varsin omituisia piirteitä. Nimittäin.
Olen alkanut panostaa ruokaan pyrkien valmistamaan sen alusta alkaen mahdollisimman lähellä tuotetuista kotimaisista raaka-aineista. Tällä kertaa en tosin viittaa isääni ja hänen hirvisaaliiseensa. (http://apinkglove.blogspot.fi/2013/10/kasassa-keiton-ainekset-soup.html)

Skribenttinne, Leipuri Hiiva, pyöräyttää pari kertaa viikossa sämpylätaikinan!
Sämpyläresepti on kirjoitettuna punakantiseen reseptivihkoon, joten en ala sitä tähän sen tarkemmin kopioida. Eilen tulin heittäneeksi taikinaan mm. spelttijauhoja, leseitä, kurpitsansiemeniä ja pellavarouhetta. Lopputuloksia katsoessani aloin miettiä, mitä mahdoin unohtaa?

Kasassa keiton ainekset - Soup

Ruokauutisia! Seuraavaksi aion nimittäin kertoa, mitä köökissäni tapahtui eilen illalla. Pahoittelut tehosteiden puuttumisesta...

Eilen skribentinne köökissä tapahtui siis seuraavaa: valmistui varsin onnistunut keitto alta aikayksikön. Eikä mikä tahansa keitto vaan keitto, jonka raaka-aineet olivat hyvinkin luomua ja lähellä tuotettua. Keiton raaka-aineista perunat olivat äitin ja isän kasvimaalta, valkosipulit kaverini ryytimaalta. Näyttipä joku porkkanakin olleen kaverini ryytimaalta. Hirven oli isä tai joku hänen jahtikavereistaan juossut kiinni viime syksynä.

Tässä sen kummemmin reseptiin paneutumatta päädynkin vain toteamaan: sekaan vaan ja anna kiehua!

This is what I was preparing last night: soup with carrots, potatoes, garlic, onions, and meat. That canned meat wasn't nothing but moose - delicious. In my family we eat a lot of moose 'cause my dad goes moose hunting every year. And it's not like eating a reindeer.

I normally don't eat that much of meat but when my mom prepares moose. Last night I found a can of moose that my dad has given me last winter. It was 'bout time... Very delicious.

My Living Room

Let me introduce you to - my living room!
As you can probably see there's some serious renovation going on. I'm restoring my windows (and my wooden floor later on).
I hate the mess.

The Concept Tent

Let me introduce the Concept Tent to you.

The Concept Tent is like the new Hanging Cliff Cabana (http://apinkglove.blogspot.fi/2012/11/hanging-cliff-cabana.html), and I want both. By this time of the year I'm already sick and tired of all this darkness, freezing my ass off, and dodging dog poop hidden in the snow. So, you probably understand why you still haven't seen a pic of me taking a nap in a Hanging Cliff Cabana. But, now that we have the Concept Tent everything seems possible (but not stepping on dog poop on the streets).

The Solar Powered Tent as it's also called was "thought up because of festivals and the fact that partygoers always need to keep in touch with mates while they’re camping and roaming around the festival site. The Concept Solar Powered Tent has got a central wíreless control hub which lets you send out a wireless internet signal for anyone who needs to surf the internet, but also a wireless charging pouch that powers mobile phones and other portable devices with out the need for wires and multiple chargers, and an internal heating system. As a bonus the Concept Tent is designed to have 'glo-cation" technology: it enables the lost campers to find their tent by sending out a text message that triggers a distinctive glow in the tent helping them see it from a distance.

...yeah, it did sound too good. It's just a concept designed to celebrate Orange’s 11th year at Glastonbury Festival 2012. Sigh.

Olin aamulla matkalla heppatunnille, kun katseeni kiinnittyi varsin eriskummalliseen asiaan.
Sähkökaappiin oli nimittäin liimattu teos, jossa kehotettiin "ottamaan sydän ja antamaan se jollekin, josta välität". Tätä sanomaa oli tehostettu askartelemalla arkin alareunaan - sanomasta päätellen - sydämiä, jotka olivat ohikulkijoiden vapaasti otettavissa. Harmikseni "revi tästä"-käsky oli käynyt, toden totta, toteen, eikä sydämiä ollut enää minun jakaa välittämilleni joillekin.

I found this poster this morning glued onto some sort of an electric box. It says "take a heart and give it to someone you care". And, obviously, there were hearts drawn on to the poster but they were all thorn out. I like this idea, a lot! Have a heart, and give to someone you care!

Joulukranssi

Aikaisemmassa kirjoituksessani kirosin kurjat varkaat maan rakoon (http://apinkglove.blogspot.fi/2012/11/thieves-varkaat.html) - olivat pöllineet syksyisen omatekemän ovikranssini. Pöyristyttävää! Kokemastani menetyksestä huolimatta päätin ryhdistäytyä ja tehdä uuden ovikranssin jouluiloa tuottamaan. Siskoni muutti perheineen omakotitaloon, joten lupasin tehdä heillekin ikioman ovikranssin.

Ehdin ennen näitä hirmupakkasia kerätä kassillisen männyn ja kuusen oksia. Jo metsässä yritin valita parhaimman näköisiä oksia: tarpeeksi taipuisia ja välttävän vihreitä. Löysinpä muutaman kävynkin. Ajattelin lyhyesti kertoa vinkkini ovikranssin tekoon, joten kaikki siis kuulolle!

Koska männyn ja kuusen oksista irtoaa pihkaa, käytin kertakäyttöhanskoja askartelun ajan. Näin vältyin pihkalta käsissä (ja vaatteissani). Ensin leikkelin oksia lyhyemmiksi, suurin piirtein 10-15 senttiä pitkiksi pätkiksi. Sen jälkeen asettelin 3-4 oksan pätkää viuhkan malliin siten, että alimmaiseksi tuli pari pidempää oksaa kranssia tukemaan ja päällimmäiseksi parempia oksia. Tämän jälkeen asettelin oksanipun Sinooperista hankkimani kehikon päälle ja kiinnitin nipun kiepauttamalla rautalankaa ympärille. Toistin tätä niin kauan, kunnes kranssi oli mielestäni tarpeeksi tuuhea ja hyvän muotoinen (ja oksat loppuivat).

Oksat tulee kiinnittää tarpeeksi tiukkaan, ette kranssi "lakastu ennen aikojaan". Kranssia tehdessä  nämä oksaniput pitää lisäksi asetella hiukan päällekkäin, että kranssi saa tarvittavaa muotoa ja ulottuvuutta. Lopuksi ylijääneillä oksilla voi vielä hieman lisätä kranssin ryhtiä ja paikata mahdollisia aukkoja. Aikaa tähän näpräämiseen meni kaiken kaikkiaan pari tuntia. Tilaustyönä 19 eur/kpl, tilaukset inboxiin!

Earlier I wrote about thieves and my autumn wreath that was stolen (http://apinkglove.blogspot.fi/2012/11/thieves-varkaat.html). And how pissed off I was. But despite my loss I decided to give it another try, and make another wreath. This time a very special Christmas wreath. And instead of making just one I made two - one for myself and the other for my sister. Let the Holiday Season come!

Straight from my broken heart:

Let me take a deep breath and start from the very beginning.

Here we go:

About a month ago I wanted to do some crafts – anything.

Then I noticed all the maple leaves falling from trees; on the ground in yellow, red, light green, and knew exactly what I was missing! An autumn wreath!

I picked a shopping bag full of maple leaves and started crafting. It took me maybe an hour to finish but it includes getting more leaves. I put it up on my front door and enjoyed it ’til this afternoon ’cause

it was stolen! You f*****g thief, bastard, son of a b****!

(To be honest I really can’t tell when the wreath was stolen... I only noticed it today missing. Maybe last weekend while I was away. But it really doesn’t matter: am still missing my autumn wreath! You damn a*****e!)

Joku kurja on pöllinyt / varastanut / ottanut luvatta / nyysinyt / siepannut / kähveltänyt / rosvonnut itsetekemäni ovikranssin!
