Yesterday I was driving all the way to Ulvila.
Had a business meeting there (fyi).
I think that I was out of my comfort zone in, for at least, to ways.
First, I was driving a car.
Second, I was listening to some random radio stations.
But, looking back, everything went just ok. I didn't smash the car and I heard this song.
You should have seen me tapping the wheel and singing along (even though I didn't know the lyrics, yet). Have a listen, Punaisessa talossa.
It's Thursday again.
This Thursday I want to take you to the streets of Munich, Germany. We are leaving for clubbing and I definitely look wasted. I don't remember when this shot was taken, maybe five, six or seven years ago. But I think I still look the same when wasted.
I was studying in Uppsala, Sweden, back in 2002. Seeing Ash at Göta Källare in Stockholm was a must. I was all prepared: tickets, my friend, my camera with an empty roll of film... So, when the gig started I was all ready. But suddenly my Ixus died. It didn't work, it just was n_o_t working. So I've got only a handful of photos from that gig which pretty much sucks.
But, later we got to meet the band. And had some drinks. And I guess that the, um, after-party was at Gondolen. But any way, I had so much fun.
I chose here two songs from my favorite Irish band (and, yeah, I know U2 is also local): Petrol (released as the second single from their 1994 album Trailer) and Oh Yeah (taken from their album 1977 released in 1996).
Here's my second post on "my music, my jukebox". My life hasn't gone any calmer with the horses, work and "stuff" but am still trying to keep up with my promise.
I don't even remember how many years back I got this home burnt cd from a friend. It was my first introduction to the Backyard Babies. And what can I say?! I immediately felt connected with the music and that rock star way of living. True rock stars! It was a couple of years ago that I saw the Babies here in Tampere. After that they got concentrated on their side projects; Nicke Borg on his solo material and his radio show; and Dregen went on to play with Michael Monroe and eventually started working on his own solo album. But last year it was announced that the Babies will work on new music. They have also announced that their 2015 tour will kick of at Sweden Rock Festical in Sölvesborg, Sweden. A month later they will play at Ruisrock in Turku. I'll be there.
So happy to be able to wear my Backyard Babies t-shirt once again. It's not like I couldn't wear it on a daily basis. I just don't want. It's too much of a dear memory. That t-shirt.
ps Backyard Babies also come from Sweden...
I chose here two songs: Roads (taken from their album People Like People Like People Like Us released in 2006) and Say When (taken from their album Stockholm Syndrome released in 2003). Have a listen and make up your own mind!
Because life is a road that is winding and dark
But I swear 'cross my heart so are you
Life is a road that is winding and dark
But I swear 'cross my heart so are you
Now you know it's true I believe in you
Yeah you know it's true I do care for you
Backyard Babies: Roads
ps if I was a rock star I would definitely play guitar. Just like Nicke Borg.
As you can see in the pic I'm still able to pull some sort of a smiley on my face. It's day five doing absolutely nothing but seeing friends, going to the gym, and having long walks with the extended family.
ps do not tell my mom that I post a photo of me wearing b o t h my onesie and t h a t hair piece. My mom didn't let me come out of the car while going for the groceries. I was just wearing my onesie. Doesn't she love me? #don'tsayyourloveiskillingme
oh boy!
This Christmas has been unreal. I've gone to the gym, have watched Hunger Games II, have gone for long walks (and almost found myself doing some serious work-related reading). And have been kissed by boxers, and woken up to seeing Ukko's face next to mine.
Yritin ottaa meistä Rupsukan kanssa kaverikuvan. #wefie
With these shots I wish my family and friends abroad a Merry Christmas!
I was trying to capture some serious #wefie. This is the outcome.
ps since I have fans in Russia I'd love to wish you all Merry Christmas in Russian. I can only write my name in Russian so this is what I found on the Internet. Does it make any sense? Счастливого Нового Года и Рождества!
I've been listening to Pet Shop Boys a lot - not just now but even earlier. I can some how relate to their song called Winner. Not the part where they sing "I've been a loser" but "But don't forget all / The love and laughter / Now the world is at our feet". That's why I want to dedicate this song to my family and friends. It took m e a long time to feel this happy in my life but I'm there now! There is no one thing that I would want any other way. It's amazing how things finally click and you've got all the things that really matter, to you.
ps Unfortunately you are not able to see the green leather jacket that I'm wearing in this picture. I believe it was another party in Flogsta, Uppsala, Sweden (in 2001). There are Ulla, Andre, Dmitri, Marc etc. in the photo.
If this photo was in colors you would actually see the cactus that I'm holding. It was a gift.
Merouan was going home while we were both studying in Uppsala, Sweden. We are standing in the hallway in one of those corridors in Flogsta. That cactus blossomed later, bright pink flowers.
Telkkari toi äänen ja kuvan hotellihuoneeseeni aamukahdeksalta. Emmä jaksa...
Suihkun kautta biksuihin, nokka kohti vesijumppaa.
Kaikkien testien perusteella huippukuntoinen likka... Tosin ennen testejä arvioin oman fyysisen kuntoni "huonoksi", sillä kuntosaliharjoittelu on jäänyt minimiin (lue: ostin jumppapallon ja katsoin parin minuutin pätkän jumppapallon käytöstä Youtubesta). Tutustumista kuntosalilaitteisiin, joissa lähdin heti tavoittelemaan kuuta taivaalta...
Muutama juoksuspurtti. Venyttelyt sekä manikyyri.
I'm in such a good place in my life right now. There's a lot to be thankful for. Yet I can't let go of all the struggle that I've faced in my past. I keep them inside me, and let them guide me through all these new phases that I'm dealing with. See, I've made mistakes but, honestly, I've learned a lot. It's never too late to change, to re-value your thoughts and views.
RIP Freddie
I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be Too many bitter tears raining down on me I'm far away from home And I've been facing this alone for much too long I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me About growing up and what a struggle it would be In my tangled state of mind I've been looking back to find where I went wrong
Too much love will kill you If you can't make up your mind Torn between a lover and the love you leave behind You're headed for disaster 'cos you never read the signs Too much love will kill you - every time
I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be And it seems there's no way out this for me I used to bring you sunshine Now all I ever do is bring you down How would it be if you were standing in my shoes Can't you see that it's impossible to choose No there's making sense of it Every way I go I have to lose
Too much love will kill you Just as sure as none at all. It'll drain the power that's in you Make you plead and scream and crawl And the pain will make you crazy You're the victim of your crime Too much love will kill you Every time
Too much love will kill you It'll make your life a lie Yes, too much love will kill you And you won't understand why You'd give your life you'd sell your soul But here it comes again Too much love will kill you In the end In the end
This shot was taken in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, in 2001. We took a day trip to Stockholm from Uppsala. It was gals all around the world: Austria, Italy, Spain, Finland... We sure had some fun sightseeing and doing some shopping! I find this photo quite funny: my hair looks so short, and I don't even know where that red Marimekko shoulder bag is today. Maybe I need to ask my sis...
Oh boy!
It's summer, this summer. Or should I say "last summer"? Well, any way, I'm referring to t h a t summer that we had like less than fours months ago here. I'm sunbathing. And my sister's dog, mr. Ukko, is sitting o n me!
We had a nice walk earlier that day. It was so sunny and hot that I felt like sucking some Sun in. I even had a blanket put in the shadow, for mr. Ukko. But, as you can see in the pic, he's sitting on me. There we were: me trying to get some Sun, mr. Ukko wanting to sit on me.
Thoughts?
Last Saturday.
A friend of mine bought a new sofa. We had a sofa warming party.
I really did feel like partying all night long but, then, I fell asleep at midnight.
Thanks, gurls!
Oh, whatever makes her happy on a Saturday night,
Oh, whatever makes her happy, whatever makes it alright
