I'm definitely not a winter-kinda-girl. But seeing this makes me happy and warm inside.

Yeah, baby, yeah!
I saw the very first bare legs today. And it's still like winter here in Finland. Or is it?
Since the Sun was shining warmly enough in the morning I decided to go for my spring coat. It wasn't my brightest idea but some how I survived - here where polar bears walk on the streets and the sky isn't like anywhere else.

This is my spring look, kinda. And hell with it! I was tired as hell and just wanted to have a photo of my cool (the coolest!) coat. It's Maloja and I luv it!

I still remember that New Year's Eve in 2014. It was raining, and there was no snow. We had homemade candies and champagne. We eat, we drank. We stayed up late and watched Kon-Tiki.

Happy holidays!

As you can see in the pic I'm still able to pull some sort of a smiley on my face. It's day five doing absolutely nothing but seeing friends, going to the gym, and having long walks with the extended family.

ps do not tell my mom that I post a photo of me wearing b o t h my onesie and t h a t hair piece. My mom didn't let me come out of the car while going for the groceries. I was just wearing my onesie. Doesn't she love me? #don'tsayyourloveiskillingme 

Boxing Day 2014

oh boy!
This Christmas has been unreal. I've gone to the gym, have watched Hunger Games II, have gone for long walks (and almost found myself doing some serious work-related reading). And have been kissed by boxers, and woken up to seeing Ukko's face next to mine.

We are walking on Lake Näsijärvi a couple of winters ago (19.2.2012).
It's just snow, ice, snow shoes.
And a pair of Uggs.
And mr. Ukko.

ps can you, just by having a quick look at the photo, say that I'm as depressed as one can be in his / her life? Well, believe me. A month prior to walking on snow shoes I almost committed suicide. But, hey, it's #tbt. I've never been this happy in my life before (well, maybe on some occasions). I'm, like, living my life to the fullest. I've found that inner peace in me. And that's all that matters - to me.

...and that's yesterday. I've been busy doing other stuff.
I asked my friend this morning: "Is it spring, already?" She said "yes". But I'm not convinced... I mean it's as early as February, and we are on our winter holidays. Let's pretend it's still winter and we have both spring and summer still ahead, right?!

Did I scare you off?
Well, this is how I looked like 16 years ago.
And that's my cat, Aune, that I'm holding (http://apinkglove.blogspot.fi/2013/12/tbt_19.html).
I got my dreadlocks just right after graduation. And I still love that heavy make-up.

Tunnistan itseni tästä kuvasta, todellakin. Otin rastat viskattuani ylioppilaslakkini huoneen nurkkaan. Hain Helsingin Kauppikseen luettuani pääsykoekirjoista yhden, puoliksi. Sitten lähdin au pairiksi Sveitsiin. Sveitsistä palattuani olin Kurikan terveyskeskuksessa neuvola-avustajana puoli vuotta kunnes muutin lempikaupunkiini Tampereelle opiskelemaan kauppatieteitä.

Mietit ehkä kuvan nähdessäsi: mitä helvettiä?! Kamala likka, friikki!
Et ole ensimmäinen, etkä todennäköisesti viimeinenkään. Mutta tiedätkö mitä?! Ei paljon kiinnosta!
Vahva silmämeikki pysyi kasvoillani läpi yliopiston, rastat tosin vaihtuivat huonon hoidettavuuden vuoksi piikkisuoraan pystäriin. Olin kummajainen, jota vieroksuttiin, ja joka tuomittiin mummojen potkijaksi. Silti voin tänä päivänä sanoa omistavani maailman ihanimman perheen, maailman ihanimmat ystävät ja kaverit. Kaiken ei aina tarvitse olla kovin pinnallista.

Our Backyard This Morning

It's been extremely cold for a week already.
And by cold I mean something like -27 C (-16,6 F). I do have to admit that our backyard looks pretty beautiful early in the morning. And that's mr. Ukko and his new toy, a kettlebell (originally for horses). It's his new favorite!

Jouluna oli aikaa - tekemättömyydelle pitkästymiseen asti. Jouluna oli aikaa - voivotella pitkästymiseen asti. Jouluna oli aikaa - pöyhiä valokuva-albumeja pitkästymiseen asti. Jouluna oli aikaa - kuunnella iskän tarinan iskemistä (pitkästymiseen asti).

"Mä sain joskus nuorena poikana joululahjaksi jääkiekkomailan. Pitihän sitä sitte heti lähtiä näyttämähän naapuriin. Siinä, ku molin menos, mä äkkäsin tiellä jäätyneen hevosen paskan. Ja pakkohan mun oli sitä lämäästä. Ja lapa irti! Kyllä sai taas kotona kuulla, ku heti pitää kaikki rikkoa. Ja mä vaan vähä lämääsin..."

I don't know if you have your holidays filled with seeing relatives, being active in every angle of your life but, for at least me, holidays tend to be rather boring - sorry! I've got no relatives to visit, and being on a holiday usually means getting that holiday mood on - that mood that says "do not do anything but rest and relax and eat and spend some quality time with your family". It seems like I stop living when going by these three: rest, relax and eat... This Christmas I went through some old photo albums and found this photo of two young kids - that's probably my dad pulling the sledge. 

I can still recognize the place. The trees on the right have already grown up (just like the kids). If that's my dad's sledge he probably still has it hidden somewhere.

My NYE 2014, uudenvuoden kujeet

I had so much fun last night. I truly did!

I went to see my goddaughter, who is five years old, and her family. At their place we made marshmallows - have you ever eaten fresh, still a bit warm marshmallows? They taste goooood! Then we had some fireworks, champagne and maybe few beers (us, adults). We were up quite late, finished our night with a movie called Kon Tiki - absolutely worth watching. The kids went to sleep earlier so I had quite an interesting wakeup (eh): the kids came in and started jumping on my bed screaming "WAKE UP, WAKE UP". Eventually I did.

Tämä uusivuosi poikkesi hieman aikaisemmista. Olin yökyläilemässä kummityttöni luona. Ohjelmaamme kuului vaahtokarkkien tekemistä (nam!), sädetikkuja, raketteja, shampanjaa ja riehakasta yhdessäoloa. Illan päätteeksi, lasten mentyä nukkumaan, katsoimme Kon Tiki -nimisen elokuvan, joka osoittautuikin varsin onnistuneeksi pläjjäykseksi. Aamuherätyskin poikkesi hieman aikaisemmista: puoli yhdeksältä riiviöt tulivat hyppimään sängylle huutaen samalla "HERÄTYS".

Voiko joulun odottamisen paremmin aloittaa: simmut kiinni ja huovan lämpöön. Läppäri kuvausrekvisiittaa (, kun sattui sängyllä lojumaan).

I didn't come up with anything else than two pics of my precious Christmas tree - lights off, lights on.
My Christmas tree has got some horse figures hanging, and Christmas lights made of plastic horses!
I'll be heading to my parents' place this afternoon. I just can't wait to eat all the Christmas food, do you?
