I'm a bit late on this but I've been sick. I had an awful stomach bug.
The Killers gig was totally awesome! It's not worth describing it, I just cannot find the right words to make justice... Instead of taking photos of the band (sic) I tried to capture t h e most amazing lightning I've like ever seen. It was just a pure lightning show! Photos are not in any particular order (I accidentally mixed it).
In less than a day I'll be sitting in a car heading to Helsinki.
Do you know why? ’cause me and my sister are about
to see the Killers at Hartwall Areena (Helsinki). OMG! Yes! I love life! I
better start looking for my the Killers t-shirt that I got last time they
played here in Finland (haven’t worn it ever since - just to keep it safe).
If it were for me we would’ve not seen that gig in
2007 (omg, s i x years ago).
I was driving my sister’s car all the way from
Tampere to Helsinki, which was fine by me. We were listening to the band and
having a lot of fun already. Then, when we got to Helsinki we started looking
for a place to park. We actually managed to find one spot, just right behind
Jäähalli. That spot was so tiny, in between two cars, that it didn’t almost exist.
I haven’t done any ”parallel parking” since driving
school (and, yep, I do have a license). And on that particular day, in such a
hurry and excitement, I just didn’t know how to get that damn car in that damn spot.
And I didn’t.
My sister was yelling (and sitting comfortably on
her seat), giving me directions, and telling that there were already cars
behind us waiting. I was all sweating, and almost cried to be honest. Then I just
turned to my sister and (kindly?) asked her to give it a try, instead. It
didn’t take more than two minutes, and we were on our way to see the gig
(having our car parked just like they teach at the driving school).
If it were for me we would still be there, right
behind Jäähalli, parking our car!
My true love, mr. Ukko, the boxer.
I look like shit (after a power walk, and having just taken off my beanie) but I don't care. And I did ask him not to kiss me on my lips - he didn't care... I do know that he likes to lick his butt, don't remind me, either.
"Don't want your picture on my cell phone.I want you here with me.Don't want your memory in my head, no.I want you here with me."
I took Ukko out for a long walk on the other today. Ukko wanted to carry his toy all the way, and, thus, we had some quality time playing in the crispy weather of late January. As you can see from the photos Ukko is almost too busy to pose - it's his precious...
It's freezing here in Tampere. My horseriding was cancelled this morning. I guess -26 C / -15 F is freezing enough for both horses and enthusiasts like me. Instead of riding I had a quick stroll in my lovely city. I managed to take some photos even though holding my iPhone was quite an experience with no knitted mittens on.
Is it steam or what? There are ducks sleeping on the ice - you see them?! Are they hungry, where do they find food when everything's frozen?
Same place, different perspective.
Ehdin jo huokaista helpotuksesta: talven selkä on katkaistu, jälleen yksi kirpeä talvi takana...
By "ICE" I'm not referring to "ICE" (In Case of Emergency)* nor "Vanilla Ice"** but water frozen into the solid state. Why, you might ask? 'cause I went ice skating yesterday.
I haven't gone ice skating in, like, ages, since Ice Age, lol. But yesterday I squeezed my toes into my figure skates and did some jumps, death spirals and spins (I wish). My skates didn't feel comfortable in my feet, blades were rusty and toe picks hit the ice every once in a while. Somehow I managed to stay up on my feet and skate for quite some time, eh.
Today I had some quality time with Ukko, the boxer. We went ice walking (is that a proper word?). Any way, we were walking on ice @Lake Iidesjärvi. Ukko had brought his football with him so we played with it. Or he played with it.
* It was my mom who asked if I knew what "ICE" means? And I didn't. Now I know.
